First day in Lampang

We made it safely into Lampang yesterday, rested enough to get rid of our intense jet lag, and began our eventful trip today!

Today we visited the Thailand Elephant Conservatory Center (TECC) and saw how the elephants live here. The TECC holds over 100 elephants that they care for, including 6 royal elephants. They train only about 60, but the elephants they train are incredible! They can parade, walk on balance beams, bow, kiss people, and even paint!

Our hosts met us at the airport. They are wonderful!

These elephants are better at painting than most of us!

We all got to ride elephants!

Here Mark holds a ball of elephant dung.
Katie and Whitney got to make elephant dung paper.

Elephant kisses made everyone's day!
